There are several Dutch language exams you may need to pass to work and live in the Netherlands.

Some Dutch exams are required for the civic integration, or for a permanent residence permit. The official exams can be taken at the levels A1 (Basic integration exam abroad) A2, B1 (Staatsexamen Programma I) or B2 (Staatsexamen Programma II). It depends on your personal situation which exams you need to pass.

Professionals in healthcare need to pass Dutch language exams for their BIG-registration. They have to pass exams at either B1, B2 or B2+ depending on their field. The B1 and B2 exams are the Staatsexamens NT2 offered by DUO. Academic medical professionals such as dentists and medical doctors, need to pass the B2+ exam. This is the only exam that is not offered by DUO and can be taken at registered language schools. NedLes offers the B2+ exams as well.

For most exams the best preparation is a general language course to obtain the required level. If you would like some guidance preparing your exams we offer private tutoring. Please contact us to inquire about the possibilities or if you would like to know what your current level is.
